2 officers taken to hospital after Calgary police involved in 2nd crash this week

Two Calgary police officers were taken to hospital Thursday after their vehicle collided with two others in a southeast intersection.

Collision happened at intersection of Southland Drive and Bonaventure Drive S.E.

Two Calgary police officers were taken to hospital Thursday after their vehicle collided with two others in a southeast intersection.

Police said the officers were responding to a panic alarm when crash occurred at the intersection of Southland Drive and Bonaventure Drive S.E.

Both officers were taken to hospital, one with minor injuries and the other as a precaution. One driver from the other vehicle was taken to hospital as a precaution. 

The traffic section will be investigating to determine how the crash happened, police said.

The collision is the second time a police vehicle has been involved in a crash in less than a week. 

On Friday afternoon, a police vehicle crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of Heritage Drive and Elbow Drive S.W.

The officer was responding to a panic alarm. Two adults and one child from the other vehicle were taken to hospital as a precaution. The police officer wasn't injured.
