Toronto police say a cyclist has suffered life-threatening injuries after he was doored in the area of Dundas Street West and Denison Avenue, near Bathurst Street.

Police received calls around 8:40 p.m. Police initially said the cyclist was rushed to hospital with critical injuries. However, later Wednesday night a police tweet indicated the male cyclist's injuries are life-threatening.

The area around the collision scene has been closed off for the investigation, police told CBC Toronto.

The 505 Dundas streetcar is diverting both ways via Spadina Avenue, College Street and Bathurst Street, due to the collision.
