Military Trail is now closed to traffic in both directions east of Scarborough Golf Club Road from Ellesmere Road to East Highland Creek until the fall.
A mix of emergency road work and watermain repairs will mean drivers will want to plan an alternate route, such as using Neilson Road to travel south to Ellesmere Road, according to a news release from the city of Toronto Thursday.
As a result of the construction, traffic on Military Trail between East Highland Creek and Neilson Road will also occasionally be restricted to one shared lane.
Extra signs will be put in place to help drivers navigate the construction work and city staff will be put in place to help manage traffic.
Commuters can find an online map to help plan travel routes ahead of the city's scheduled construction work.
