Russia-Ukraine updates: Fierce battle in eastern Vuhledar

• Ukrainian troops are locked in a fierce battle with Russian fighters for control of the town of Vuhledar southwest of Donetsk.
• President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says the situation at the front remains acute, particularly in the eastern Donetsk region where Russia is stepping up its offensive.
• Moscow says Latvia’s ambassador has two weeks to leave Russia, accusing the EU Baltic country of “total Russophobia”.
• A total of 321 heavy tanks have been promised to Ukraine by several countries, Ukraine’s ambassador to France told local media.
