Rural Sask. deaths were murder-suicide: RCMP

The deaths of two women at a rural residence near Glaslyn, Sask., are now classified as a murder and a suicide, RCMP say.

According to police, the bodies of two women were discovered at the home on March 6. A 51-year-old was outside the home while a 56-year-old was found inside the home.

Police said they were called to check on the women by concerned family members.

"Investigation has determined that foul play by a third party did not result in these deaths," police said in a news release issued Tuesday. "The investigation has determined that one occupant of the residence was killed by the other, who then terminated her own life.'

RCMP said they would not be releasing any more information about the case.

Glaslyn, Sask., is about 200 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon.
