Price in Nova Scotia drops by more than five cents a litre

The price of gas is sitting at $1.25 a litre in Halifax this morning after the price dropped more than five cents overnight.

The Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board used the interrupter clause to change the price ahead of the weekly scheduled adjustment.

The interrupter clause is used anytime there is a major fluctuation in the price.

This is just the fourth time the interrupter clause has been used. Most recently, the UARB invoked the clause in September.

Diesel was not included in Tuesday's adjustment. The UARB said it will still announce its scheduled price changes at midnight Thursday.
