Selfie sticks banned from Playland rides, PNE concerts

The PNE has banned selfie sticks at concerts and rides this year.

After Disneyland announced it's banning selfie sticks from theme parks, CBC contacted the PNE about its rules

If you've been planning to pull out yourselfie stick to capture your PNE memories this year, you're going to be limited in what you can do with it.

After Disneyland announced it'sbanning selfie sticks from theme parks, CBC News asked the PNE what its policy is.

Spokesperson Laura Ballance said, "Currently selfie sticks are banned from the rides at Playland for safety reasons and concerts and shows throughout the site because they block views."

But that doesn't mean you can't bring a selfie stick to Playland or the PNE it just means you have to be careful how you use it.

Don't pull it out in the middle of a ride or while you're standing at a concert.

Ballance said the selfie stick ban may be expanded in the future.

"We continue to watch trending in the industry and review the rationale for more expansive bans than we currently have in place."
