Trucks collide in Surrey sending 4 to hospital

A moving truck and a large semi-truckcollided in Surrey, B.C., Thursday afternoon, sendingfour people in hospital with serious injuries.

The accident occurrednear the intersection of theFraser Highway and 176 Street shortly after 1:30 p.m. PT.

Surrey RCMP say themoving truck made an abrupt stop andwas then rear-ended by the semi-truck. The driver of the semi swerved after colliding withthe moving truck, and hit a pick-up truck.

Police say two people from themoving truck and the semi-truck were taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries. Nobody in the pick-up truck was injured.

Surrey RCMP say southbound traffic is closed on 176 Street near the accident and is likely to remain closed until about 6 p.m. PT.
