Man in serious condition after Halloween stabbing in Delta

Police in Delta are investigating a stabbing that sent a man to hospital onSaturday night.

It happened a little before midnight on Arpe Road, near Main Street.

A Halloween party spilled onto the street, where an altercation led to the stabbing, said police.

Paramedics took the victim to Royal Columbian Hospital in seriousbut stable condition, according tothe B.C. Ambulance Service.

The Delta police K-9 unit and forensics investigators could be seen scouring the crime sceneearly Sunday morning.

Police haven't said what mighthave sparked the violent altercation, only that it was a chaotic, rainy scene when officers arrived.

Police took one suspect into custody.
