Justin Trudeau has been sworn in as Canada's 23rd prime minister. He has a new cabinet that includes both experienced politicians and newcomers. On this edition of the mid-week House podcast, Chris Hall looks at the work ahead for Canada's new government.

The real work can now officially begin.

Justin Trudeau has been sworn in as Canada's 23rd prime minister. Healsonamed a31-member cabinet thatincludes a mix of fresh faces and political veterans.

The new Prime Ministerissued a statement touting the strengths of his team's diversity, gender equality and experience.

He promised to collaborate with the provinces, rebuild relations with indigenous Canadians, and run an open, ethical and transparent government.

"We will shine more light on government to ensure it remains focused on the people it is meant to serve," he said. "Openness and transparency will be our constant companions, and we will work to restore Canadians' trust in their government and in our democracy. We are committed to the highest ethical standards and applying the utmost care in the handling of public funds."
