Montreal police have evacuated a building on de la Montagne Street due to an unstable wall.

Four apartments were evacuated at 181 de la Montagne and residents are now in the hands of the Red Cross.

Police received the call ataround3:15 p.m. and said engineers determined it was too dangerous to keep the building occupied.

Police said de la Montagne Street between Ottawa and Wellington streets will be closed until Monday.

The same section of de la Montagne street was closed last week after a sidewalk collapsed due to what appeared to be an erosion of the soil underneath.

No one was injured.
