There are a lot of voices these days telling us that meditation canhelp solve all our mental health problems. In Not Enough,self-described "30-something privileged white lady" Megan Phillipsrecounts what happened when she found out for herself at a ten daymeditation retreat in rural B.C.

The funny and honest Not Enough features plenty of diverse voices, including the sceptical voice of Phillips herself ("You're going tof--k this up!"), the true-believer voice of her instructor ("Releasethe aversions and attain perfect equanimity!") and the self-righteousvoice of a fellow meditator nicknamed Om Girl("I maintain apesticide-free garden!").

By playing back self-recordings, Phillips also broadcasts the voicesinside her own head, ones telling her she's "not enough."

In 'Not Enough,'the journey is more satisfying than the ending.- Kaj Hasselriis

Will she experience a spiritual awakening? Or quit the camp in frustration?

In Not Enough, the journey is more satisfying than the ending. Someflashbacks seem out of place, too. But for the most part, I like theway Phillips takes a light-hearted, critical look at a verycontemporary topic.
