The very moment Mistaken Point became a World Heritage site

The announcement that Mistaken Point was to be named a UNESCO World Heritage Site came with great deal of excitement in Portugal CoveSouth.

The atmosphere was a bit more subdued in Turkey, where the United Nationscommittee was holding its meeting.

Chairperson Lale Ulkerbrought down the decisionwithout objection and without much comment on Sunday. It added the Mistaken Point Ecological Reserve, the site of some of the oldest multi-cellular fossils in the world, to the prestigious list of World Heritage Sites.
