Number of children aged 17 and under who the government says will be lifted "out of poverty" by 2017 with the new Canada Child Benefit, by province (excludes territories and Aboriginal children on reserves):

New Brunswick: 9,400

British Columbia: 16,100

Note: Numbers reflect additional children who will be living above Statistics Canada's low-income cutoff (LICO) one measure of the poverty level.
