What's open and closed in Saskatoon on Remembrance Day

Some city services will be closed for the holiday.

Some Saskatoon municipal buildings will be closed Friday for Remembrance Day, while some services will still be offered at reduced hours.

  • Saskatoon City Hall is closed.
  • Library branches are closed.
  • The impound lot willnot be releasing vehicles to the public.
  • Garbage and recycling collection will continue as scheduled. The landfill, compost depots and Saskatoon Civic Conservatory will be open regular hours.
  • The Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo will be open regular hours.
  • Most recreational centres will be open;however, fitness classes and child minding are cancelled for the holiday. TheCosmoCivic Centre will be closed, as will the Terry Fox Track in theSaskTelSports Centre.

Parkingwill be free, but motorists still have to follow the time limits posted.

Free transit to ceremony

Transit will be running on its Sunday schedule.

Free rides to and from the city's Remembrance Day ceremony at the SaskTelCentre are being offered through Saskatoon Transit and Access Transit.

Buses will depart from the downtown special events stop at 23rd Street and 2nd Avenue every 15 minutes beginning at 9 a.m. CST, and from Market Mall and the Centre Mall at 9:45 a.m.

Return trips begin immediately following the ceremony.
