Passenger dies after southeast Calgary crash with truck that killed driver

A second person has died from injuries after the car she was in was struck by pickup truck in southeast Calgary.

The driver of the small car died Wednesday in collision with a truck at 130th Avenue S.E. shopping district

A second person has died after the car she was in was struck by a pickup truck near the entrance to a Superstore parking lot in southeast Calgary.

The crash happened around 12:20 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of128thAvenue and46thStreetS.E., just north of McKenzie Towne.

The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, died at the scene.

Paramedics said the crash happened around 12:20 p.m. near the intersection of 128th Avenue and 46th Street S.E., two roads that meet as part of a retail shopping complex. (Google Maps)

His passenger, a woman in her 20s,was critically injured and taken to hospital in life-threatening condition.

An official confirmed Friday afternoon that she had died.

The driver of the pickup truck, a man in his 30s, suffered less severe injuries. He was released from hospital on Friday.

Police are still investigating the cause of the collision.
