Paul Harbridgeis a Toronto-basedauthorand illustrator originally from Muskoka, Ont., whose work is influenced by the lakes and forests he grew up around.

His first picture book was When The Moon Comes, a story about a group of friends whose anticipation of winter slowly buildsas they wait for their local lake to freeze over so they canplay hockey on its moonlit ice. The book was nameda finalist for the Governor General's Literary Award for young people's literature illustrated books.

When The Moon Comes was also a finalist for the 2018 TD Canadian Children's Literature Awardand won theMarilyn Baillie Picture Book Award at the 2018 award ceremony.

His second children's book, Out Into the Big Wide Lake, was the winner of the 2022 Ezra Jack Keats Award for writing, and was nominated for the2021Governor General's Literary Award for young people's literature illustrated books.
