2 people found dead following single-vehicle crash in Cape Breton

Cape Breton Regional Police say two people were found dead following a single-vehicle collision on Grand Lake Road Saturday morning.

The driver of the truck who fled the scene with injuries was located on Sunday

Cape Breton Regional Police say two people were found dead following a single-vehicle crash on Grand Lake Road Saturday morning.

Officers responded to the scenenear Cape Breton University around 7 a.m. where they say it appears a black Dodge Ram travelling westbound left the road and struck a pole.

Two occupants of the truck, awoman in her 30s and a man in his 40s, were found dead.

Police saidthe driver, believed to bea man in his 30s, was injured andwas seen running from the scene wearing a green sweater and blue jeans.

Police sent out a release Sunday afternoon to say the driver hadbeen located. They would notprovide any details on where he was found, his condition or whether charges are being considered.

Traffic safety and forensic identification units are continuing toinvestigate.

Grand Lake Road wasblocked off at Gardiner Road but has since reopened.
