Liberal Francis Drouinfought offSusan McArthurof the Conservatives to keep his rural riding red.

Francis Drouin has been re-elected inGlengarry-Prescott-Russell.

CBC projects the Liberal, whohas held the seat since 2015, fended offSusan McArthurof the Conservatives to keep his rural riding red.

Behind Drouin and McArthur were the NDP'sKonstantine Malakos, the Green'sDaniel Lapierre,Brennan Austring of the People's Party and the Free Party'sMarc Bisaillon.

Someone listed under the name The Joker was also running as an Independent, but it appears the last laughwas on them.

Liberal Francis Drouin, who was re-elected in Glengarry-Prescott-Russell, says its time for the party to reflect on how to best move forward after the election.

Glengarry-Prescott-Russellruns from rural east Ottawa to the Quebec borderand isamostly francophone riding.

It has a population of109,975as of 2016 and covers more than 3,000 square kilometres. It contains communities like Hawkesbury, the Nation,part of Ottawa,Clarence-Rockland, as well as Alfred and Plantagenet.
