Follow buzzworthy filmmaker Stephen Dunn as he screens his first feature

Stephen Dunn is having a very big year. After directing a string of well-received short films (his short documentary series Pop Up Porno played the Sundance Film Festival, in January 2015), the Newfoundland-born director's first feature Closet Monster premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and clinched the Canada Goose award for Best Canadian Feature. Dunn was also awarded the first Len Blum Residency for screenwriting, which entitles him to live at TIFF's Festival Towers for three months and be mentored by Blum, the legendary Canadian screenwriter who brought to us Meatballs, among other Canuck classics.

CBC Arts shadowed Dunn on what may prove to be the most important day of his life. The premiere of Closet Monster was an emotional rollercoaster for the young director, from the early morning technical check (which he calles the "last kiss" before sending his film out into the world), to his first press junket, first walk down the red carpet, and finally the film's debut at one of the top festivals in the world.
