Heat warning continues for Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent

The heat wave continues throughout southwestern Ontario with Environment Canada's heat warning continuing Thursday.

Temperatures expected to be around 30 C for fourth straight day with the humidex inching toward 40

Theheat wavecontinues throughoutsouthwestern Ontario with Environment Canada's heat warning continuing Thursday.

Temperatures could reach as high as 30C for most communities, including Windsor and Chatham-Kent. With the humidex, temperatures could feel closer to 40 C.

There is a chance of a thunderstorm later in the day, meaning there could be some relief later in the afternoon.

This is the fourth day in a rowWindsor-Essex has been under a heat warning. Thenational weather agency first issued a special weather statement Monday morning, followed up with a heat warninglater in the afternoon.

The Windsor Essex Health Unit issued an extended heat warning that startedTuesday.It warned people to watch for symptoms of heat-related illness, such as dizziness, headache, nausea or vomiting.

Overnight temperatures will drop to about 18C, making for slightly cooler nights than seen the last few days.

That hot air mass working its way up from the Gulf of Mexico is expected to pass by Thursday. Someareas saw some relief throughout the weekwith a fewshowers and thunderstorms.
