Yukon fashion designer set for Paris runway

A Yukon fashion designer is set to represent Canada inParis.

Sho Sho Esquirois ofKaskaand Tlingit ancestry. Her work offers a modernist and abstracted take on aboriginal culture.

She will be showcasing eight pieces from her 2015 collection at the J Autumn fashion show inParis on October 31.

The show is the first of its kind held atthe Eiffel Tower.

Esquirosays it presents a big opportunity in her career.

"I know all the hard work will be worth it," she says.

"When you're trying to realize your dreams it takes lots of hard work, lots of dedication and lots of mistakes. Everybody has self-doubt but you keep your eye on the prize."

Esquiro is originally from Ross River Yukon and now lives in Vancouver. Shehas travelled across the United-States with her designsand made clothing worn by A Tribe Called Red.

She says her collection is dedicated to the murdered and missing aboriginal women in Canada.
