The 2025CBC Short Story Prizewill be accepting submissions between Sept. 1 and Nov. 1 at 4:59 p.m. ET (1:59 p.m. PT).

You can submit your original, unpublished short fiction for a chance to win$6,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts, a two-week writing residency at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativityand have your story published on CBC Books.

Four finalists will win $1,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts and have their story published on CBC Books.
