Two new Harry Potter books to be published in October

The books are set to be released as part of a British exhibition that celebrates the 20th anniversary of the launch of the series.
The first Potter book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, came out in 1997.

Two new books set in the Harry Potter universe willbe released as part of a British exhibition that celebrates the 20th anniversary of the launch of the series.

The British Library's Harry Potter exhibition, A History of Magic,opens in October and runs through February 2018. British publishing house Bloomsbury revealed that two new Potter books will be released in conjunction with the event.

While J.K. Rowling is not authoring the books, they area collaboration between the publisherBloomsbury, the British Libraryand the Harry Potter author.

Harry Potter: A History of Magic The Book of the Exhibition is the exhibition's official book. It will highlight a variety of subjects taught at Hogwarts. Each chapter will feature artifacts from the exhibit and will be accompanied by personal essays from prominent people from the U.K. such as historian Owen Davies, journalist Lucy Mangan and astronaut Tim Peake.

Harry Potter A Journey Through A History of Magicis an overview of the history of magic and the Hogwarts curriculum, and will include previously unseen sketches and pages from J.K. Rowling.

Both books will be available in Canada in October 2017.

These books join a rich library of companion texts to the Harry Potter series. A textbook from the series, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, was released as a book in 2001, and the script of the film adaptationwas released as a book in2016. Quidditch Through the Ages, a book Harry reads in the series, was released in 2001. The two-part stage play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, was released as a script book in 2016.
