We marched up Bathurst taking over Northbound and Southbound lanes. The atmosphere was festive with drummers, singers and with people chanting over megaphones.

There were a few minor altercations at the beginning of the march involving minor pushing, name calling and sign language. These few minor altercations only lasted a few minutes and as the March progress through the streets both sides remained calm.

The first stop was at the BRC branch on Bathurst and College. According to several of the speakers the Royal bank is one of the largest investors of the Tar Sands.  Police set up a bicycle barricade between the protestors and the bank. An unnamed officer told me "If it was not for us these people would be tearing this place apart."

As we marched along college more people joined as police tried to contain the march to the eastbound lanes. Our second stop was the Canadian Mining building at the corner of McCaul and College.

The march slowly made its way South on University ending up at the Court house across from the heavily guarded U.S. Consulate. The march finished here with music dancing despite being overwhelmingly outnumbered by police the mood by the end of the 3hour march was festive.
