Update: TTC resumes service after G20 protests

By CBC News

Subway and buses in Toronto will be operating on regular schedules Sunday morning, a day after service was suspended in the downtown area during the G20 summit protests, the Toronto Transit Commission said.

Transit officials suspended service late Saturday afternoon on both the Yonge and University subway lines at the request of police, who were battling to keep protesters away from the security fence. Streetcar service was cancelled between Spadina and Broadview Avenues south of Bloor.

Early morning GO Transit rail service was suspended on Sunday, but officials say regular operations for both trains and buses were expected to return to normal at about 10 a.m. ET.

The Union Station bus terminal had been closed and service relocated to the Yorkdale and York Mills terminals in the city's north end.
