Where the Old Horses Go

Bob Martin spend 12 years raising race horses in Nova Scotia. When he came home to Newfoundland 25 years ago, he thought that chapter of his life was over.

But Bob fell back into horses the day he walked into the barn at the Horse and Pony Sanctuary in Hopeall, Trinity Bay. What he saw shocked him. Five old, failing animals very much in need. Bob decided to volunteer at the sanctuary that moment. And for the past five years has been giving old, ailing horses and ponies a second chance.

If Bob Martin had his way every old or unwanted horse would end up at the sanctuary in Hopeall where old horses are welcomed - and nurtured.

Where do old horses go? If they're lucky, out to pasture with Bob Martin.
