Farm Workers

It's not easy being a farmer in this country: between Mother Nature and uncertain markets, it's almost impossible to turn a profit. People power is the other issue: getting enough workers to help bring in the harvest.

The situation is so serious that some farmers in the fertile Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia say they'd be out of business without workers from Jamaica and Mexico.

But what's it like for the Jamaicans who spend months away from their families and country?
