The Grenfell -- an archival special

Almost 30 years ago, a Land and Sea crew made a trip on the coast guard ship Grenfell.  At the time the Grenfell was patrolling the island's north east coast, in the midst of the annual landsmen's seal hunt.

The big boat had proven her worth to fishermen there...she'd gone to the assistance of longliners with damaged bows and engine troubles...she'd freed many boats trapped in heavy ice.

But this trip would be a particularly eventful one for the Grenfell, and the Land and Sea crew. The crew witnessed, and filmed, a potential tragedy being averted. They saw the coast guard at its best.
