Dress like your favourite horror heroine for Halloween... and beyond

Spice up your fall wardrobe by shopping these iconic looks from our favourite scary movies and TV shows.

Scary movie mavens have long been our go-to when planning the perfect Halloween costume. But who says you have to retire these memorable looks at the end of October? Here's a look at a fewof the scream queens that we're taking major fashion inspiration from all autumn long.

1. Casey Becker, Scream

Drew Barrymore's Casey doesn't get much screen-time in this Wes Craven classic, but her signature shriek and sartorial choices have carved out a place in horror history. Camel sweaters are timeless, but we're especially drawn to Casey's ribbed pullover this season. Pair the thick knit with a high-waisted light jean for Sunday brunch, or dress it up with a pencil skirt for the office. It's a look that's perfect for those rainy autumn days but stylish enough that you won't want to stay inside the house.

2. Carrie White, Carrie

We wouldn't wish Carrie's bloodbath of a prom on anyone, but Sissy Spacek's shy outsider was really on to something in the dress department. Lingerie-inspired slip dresses have been making a splash since spring and these delicate, baby pink pieces are no exception. Match yours with stockings and a cream jacket and you'll be able to recycle the look even after snow starts to fall.

3. Nancy Wheeler, Stranger Things

When it comes to the nail-biting Netflix thriller, Winona Ryder's grown-out mullet and Barb's, well, entire existence, have already inspired countless memes and think-pieces. But it's Nancy's turn from lovelorn teen to fearless female that came with a style transformation we can't ignore. We've upgraded her shearling parka to a sleek burgundy moto jacket that's sure to keep you cozy on the coldest of fall days. Pair it with your favourite flannel, like Nancy's orange and blue button-up, and you've got a look that nobody can mess with.

4. Melanie Daniels, The Birds

For those of us who love bright hues, fall fashion can often feel like an endless sea of beige, black and navy. That's why we're obsessing over Melanie's structured pastel suit. Her gorgeous mint ensemble may have attracted unwanted attention (in the form of some freaky flying objects), but our take on this look is eye-catching for all the right reasons. Pair the dress with a blazer and ankle boots, and you're all ready for the office or a night on the town!

5. Zayday Williams, Scream Queens

Last fall ushered in the reign of Chanel Oberlin (Emma Roberts), with her bold pink furs and houndstooth basics. But now, we're kneeling before a new Queen. Bomber jackets are popping up everywhere this season and it's easy to see why. Comfy, sporty, and a little bit oversized, these cropped coats are the perfect way to transition your summer staples into colder weather. Choosing a printed jacket, like Zayday's black and white piece, will effortlessly dress up jeans and tees and help you stand out from the bomber-donning masses. That's the kind of genius we've come to expect from our favourite Kappa Kappa Tau.
