Manjit Minhas

Manjit Minhas knows how to find, bottle, and sell good ideas.

As the co-founder of Minhas Breweries, Distillery and Wineries, Manjit is a global player in the beverage industry with a vast network of manufacturing and warehousing hubs around the world.

This exceptional journey started all the way back when Manjit was just 19. She and her brother Ravinder scraped together $10,000 to launch their first beer in Alberta. In 2006, they purchased the second-oldest brewery in the United States and renamed it the Minhas Craft Brewery. At the time, this acquisition officially made the Minhas siblings the youngest brewery owners in the world.

Their group of breweries is now the ninth-largest in the world, and as a company they produce more than 120 beers, spirits, liqueurs and wines that ship all across Canada and the U.S., as well as overseas to 16 different countries. Worldwide the company has sold 9 billion pints of beer alone and had revenues over $225 million last year.

Though trained as a petroleum engineer, Manjt has become a specialist in brand development, marketing, sales management and retail negotiations. Shes been recognized for several business industry awards such as PROFIT magazines Top Growth Entrepreneur, Top 100 Women Entrepreneurs in Canada, Canadas Top 40 under 40 and Chatelaine Magazines Top Entrepreneur Woman of The Year. She also hosts a Top 10 Apple Podcast.

Manjit is a passionate believer in doing good and giving back. As co-chair of United Way of Calgary and Area, she helped raise almost $60 million for services that help people in her community find economic, health and social supports. Along with her brother, Manjit also funds a free, all-girls engineering school in India.

In 2023, Manjit was appointed as Honorary Lieutenant Colonel of the Queens Own Rifles and the Canadian Armed Forces and serves by fostering greater collective spirit amongst troops and helping educate Canadians on all the great work the army does in Canada and around the world.

Manjit lives in Calgary, where she was born and raised, with her husband and two daughters.
