Sarah McVie

Sarah McVie began her acting career performing in classical plays at the prestigious Stratford Shakespeare Festival of Canada where her roles included: Cordelia in King Lear opposite Christopher Plummer. McVie was also a member of the 2001 Stratford Conservatory for Classical Theatre Training and was the recipient of the John Hirsh Award for Most Promising Young Actor.

McVie has played numerous leading roles at theatres across Canada. Highlights include the premiere of George F. Walkers The Burden of Self Awareness and the sold-out run of The Public Servant, a play McVie co-created with Jennifer Brewin, Haley McGee and Amy Rutherford. The Public Servant was developed by Common Boots Theatre (formally Theatre Columbus) and co-produced by Nightwood Theatre for a sold-out Toronto run at the Canadian Stage Companys Berkeley Street Theatre in March 2016.

Sarah received a 2021 Canadian Screen Award Nomination for Best Supporting Actress, Comedy for her role in Workin' Moms. Other film and television credits include The Handmaids Tale, American Gods, Detention Adventure, Odd Squad Mobile Unit, Im Coming for You, No Easy Days and The Secret Sex Life of a Single Mom.

McVie has worked extensively as a voice-over artist in commercials (local and national campaigns), industrials and voicing multiple roles for the animated series The Secret Life of Benjamin Bear.
