The 2015 Scotiabank Giller Prize will be broadcast on CBC Television at 9 p.m. (10 AT / 10:30 NT) on Tuesday, November 10, 2015

 CBC is pleased to announce Buffy Sainte-Marie, Guillaume Côté,Torri Higginson, Measha Brueggergosman and Cameron Bailey as the presenters for the 2015 SCOTIABANK GILLER PRIZE gala on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. These presenters will join the authors onstage to celebrate the year’s biggest achievements in Canadian arts and letters.

  The shortlist this year is:

•       André Alexis       for his novel Fifteen Dogs, published by Coach House Books  
•  
•       Samuel Archibald       for his story collection Arvida, published by Biblioasis, translated from the French by Donald       Winkler  
•  
•       Rachel Cusk       for her novel Outline, published by Harper Perennial, an imprint of HarperCollins       Publishers Ltd  
•  
•       Heather O’Neill       for her story collection Daydreams of Angels, published by       HarperCollins Publishers Ltd  
•  
•       Anakana Schofield       for her novel Martin John, published by A John Metcalf Book, an imprint of Biblioasis  

  The five authors on the shortlist were selected by an esteemed five-member jury panel made up of Irish author John Boyne (Jury Chair),   Canadian writers Cecil Foster, Alexander MacLeod and Alison Pick, and British author Helen Oyeyemi. The   works of the finalists will be introduced by these special presenters as follows:

  André Alexis   - presented by Polaris prize-winning musician Buffy Sainte-Marie

  Samuel Archibald   - presented by The National Ballet of Canada Principal Dancer Guillaume Côté

  Rachel Cusk   - presented by CBC-TV This Life actor Torri Higginson

  Heather O’Neill   - presented by Canadian soprano Measha Brueggergosman

Anakana Schofield   - presented by TIFF Artistic Director Cameron Bailey

The SCOTIABANK GILLER PRIZE gala, hosted by CBC Television’sRick Mercer, will be broadcast at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT) on CBC Television from The Ritz-Carlton in downtown Toronto, with live music from the Soulpepper Trio. It will also be live-streamed on   CBC Books, enabling Canadians across the country to be part of the Giller experience. The broadcast   will culminate when the winner is announced and awarded the Scotiabank Giller prize.

  The Scotiabank Giller Prize strives to highlight the very best in Canadian fiction year after year. The prize awards $100,000 annually to the author of the   best Canadian novel or short story collection published in English and $10,000 to each of the finalists.
