CBC EARNS 23 AWARDS AT 2014 CANADIAN SCREEN AWARDS

Last night’s broadcast saw CBC win additional three awards for Dragons’ Den and Jack


Last night’s Canadian Screen Awards at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto saw CBC Television earn three awards, bringing their grand total to 23 Canadian Screen Award wins. Fan favourite Dragons’ Den won for Best Reality/Competition Series, while the CBC Television film Jack earned two awards for their leads, Rick Roberts and Sook-Yin Lee.

CBC programs, talent and crew were all nominated in categories across the board for Canada’s most prestigious television, film and digital awards. Last night’s winners join those announced earlier in the week, with CBC’s comedy and news programming A complete breakdown of CBC’s wins can be found below.

Hosted by Martin Short, last night’s Canadian Screen Award broadcast celebrated the stars of Canadian film and television and commemorated the 65th anniversary of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television. The historic red carpet portion of the show saw each of the major broadcasters collaborating to honour Canadian talent. eTalk‘s Ben Mulroney, ET Canada’s Cheryl Hickey and Entertainment City‘s Dina Pugliese joined CBC’s Heather Hiscox and Eli Glasner to co-host the Canadian Screen Awards’ red carpet.
