It’s a tough, demanding job. Battling wildfires in the bush requires the stamina of an athlete.  Carrying thirty-kilogram hoses into the bush can burn up to 5000 calories a day.

That’s why fire rangers in northern Ontario have teamed up with Laurentian University researchers in an innovative project monitoring stress, fatigue and fitness to protect them against injury.
