Shale gas companies are exploring New Brunswick to see whether they will proceed with the controversial practice of hydraulic fracturing in the province. There are only nine gas wells in the province that have been horizontally hydro-fracked. This interactive feature illustrates the different layers of rock that must be drilled through in order to tap into the shale gas. Click on the red circles to take a closer look at specific parts of the hydro-fracking process.
