NB Municipal Elections 2012

Public spending by municipalities

New Brunswick municipalities are all unique in how they spend their taxpayers money. Some communities that rely heavily on large industrial employers require more money to be spent on fire and emergency services. Meanwhile, other councils in municipalities that are growing are forced to spend new money on highway infrastructure or recreation costs to meet the needs of their citizens.

CBC New Brunswick has compiled data filed with the Department of Environment and Local Government that lists the public expenditures of every council. Click on your community to see how your money is being spent. And then, compare the spending of your local councils to others around the province.
