Adele 'so embarrassed' after Grammys performance marred by audio glitches

Though the British singer's blockbuster, record-breaking latest album 25 was released too late to be considered for Monday night's telecast, Adele was nonetheless among the evening's most anticipated acts.

However, her stripped down performance of the new song All I Ask featuring just the British singer with a pianist on an intimate stage in the midst of the audience became a prominent example of the sound problems that plagued multiple performers during the live broadcast and sparked a flood of complaints from viewers at home.

"Sound check was great, it went really well. I was really excited. And then during the changeover, the microphones fell onto the piano strings which is what the guitar noise was," she told talk show host Ellen Degeneres in an interview recorded earlier this week and broadcast Thursday on The Ellen Degeneres Show.

The singer told Degeneresthat in the future, if she experienced sound issues during live performances, she now won't hesitate to stop and address the problem straight on.

But she was also able to poke a bit of fun at the situation.

"In fairness, I would have cried if it went really well as well. If it was a standout performance I would have cried as well. I always cry."
