Eagles of Death Metal returning to Paris following Bataclan attack

The Eagles of Death Metal kicked off their rescheduled European tour Saturday in Sweden, three months after the carnage in Paris in an attack on the concert hall where they were performing.

Jesse Hughes, frontman of the U.S. band whose Nov.13, 2015 gig at the Bataclan theatre in Paris was stormed by extremist suicide bombers who killed 89 people, says, "My friends died very beautifully, they died very well, with great courage."

The Eagles of Death Metal band kickedoff its rescheduled European tour Saturday in Stockholmthree months to the day after the Paris carnage.The California band willplay at the Olympia Theatre in Paris on Tuesday.

In an emotional interview on Sweden's TV4 channel, Hughes spoke with tears running down his cheeks. He said, "I am a raw nerve."

Hughes, co-founder of the band, recalled that in Paris he "didn't see a single coward, I didn't see anyone doing anything cowardly."

He said he "instantly knew what was happening" on the Friday night before band members dispersed to escape the carnage."There is heaviness in my heart."

Atotal of 130 people were killed in the French capital in co-ordinated attacks.

The band was scheduled to performat Stockholm's Debaser Medis club before travelling to Oslo for a concert Sunday. The tour ends in Cologne, Germanyin August.
