Ghostbusters 3 director tweets pic of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig

Ghostbusters 3 director Paul Feiggave a Twitter hintat which Hollywood stars will make up the female cast of the classic movie remake.

Feig tweeted a photo Tuesday of these comedians:

• Melissa McCarthy.
• KristenWiig.
• KateMcKinnon.
• Leslie Jones.

A few hours later, he tweeted: "In other news, #Ghostbusters will be hitting theatres July 22, 2016. Save the date!"

In October, Feigsaid his remake will centre on a cast of "hilarious women."At the time, Bill Murray, who starred in the original film, suggested McCarthy and Wiigas options for female leads.

"Melissa [McCarthy] would be a spectacular Ghostbuster," Murray said."And Kristen Wiig is so funny God, she's funny."

Feig previously worked with McCarthy and Wiig, stars ofBridesmaids.
