Catherine Reitman, daughter of Ivan Reitman, to create CBC comedy Workin' Moms

Workin' Moms, a new comedy revolving around a quartet of women juggling work-life balance and child-rearing, is heading for CBC Television.

The public broadcaster announced Thursday it had given the project - created by Canadianactress and producer Catherine Reitman a green light for 13 episodes tentatively set to air in fall 2016.

Drawing from her own experiences with motherhood, Reitman will star, direct and produce the new series, working with her husband, producer Philip Sternberg.

"I hope we can serve as a comedic battle cry for women experiencing change everywhere," she said in a statement.

A graduate of theinfluential Groundlings improv and sketch comedy troupe in Los Angelesand creator of the YouTube movie-review show Breakin' it DownWith Catherine Reitman, Reitman is the sister of filmmaker Jason Reitman and daughter of Canadian movie mogul Ivan Reitman.

Earlier this year, she showed off her performancechops at the Toronto International Film Festivalduring her brother's popularannual "live-read" event, which this yearfeatured The Princess Bride. Reitmangamely filled in at the last minute when Mexican actor Gael Garcia Bernal's flight to Toronto wasdelayed, earningwidespread laughterand a warm reception as Inigo Montoya.

She is also developing anotherproject for CBC: Starting Over, a comedy series following a woman who moves back home and attempts to turn her life around after discovering her husband's rampant infidelity.
