Sheen left me 'drowning' on stage: Russell Peters
Canadian comedian Russell Peters says he felt like he was "drowning" onstage during hisrecent Toronto gigs with Charlie Sheen.
Last month the Brampton, Ont. bred Peters interviewedSheen at Massey Hall for two nights as part of Sheen's ramshackle Violent Torpedo of Truth tour.
Most people said the first show was a mess and that Peters outshone Sheen, who barely engaged him in conversation. Some left early.
In a phone interview to promote today's release of his DVD, The Green Card Tour, LIVE from the O2 Arena Peters told the Canadian Press he was swimming for his life on stage with Sheen.
He says he told Sheen after the show "Dude, you're killing me up there. You're not giving me anything."
He says Sheen apologized, explaining he was tired. The second show was much better, Peters added.
Peters, who recently appeared in the filmSource Code, has three other movies due out this year.
Hespent a night hanging out with Sheen hoping to come away with a great crazy Charlie Sheen story, he says. But the troubled TV star was well behaved not to mention, sweet, generous, cool, fun, nice, smart, and intelligent.
