Bridget Jones to return in new Helen Fielding novel

Bridget Jones's Diary will have a new instalment with a later-in-life story written by British author Helen Fielding.

New novel published in November

Bridget Joness Diary is back. The series will have a new instalment, a later-in-life story written by British author Helen Fielding.

Fielding s U.S. publisher, Alfred A Knopf, a division of Random House, announced Tuesday that the new book would be released in November. There is no title yet for Fieldings book, which will also be released as an e-book and audiobook.

Bridget Joness Diary, released in 1996, and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, published in 1999, were international bestsellers, with more than 15 million copies sold. Both are told in the voice of Bridget, a hapless single woman living in London.

Fielding is continuing in Bridgets voice in the new novel.

"My life has moved on, and Bridget's will move on, too," Fielding said in a statement. "I hope people will have as much fun reading it, as I am writing it."

Both of her earlier novels were made into successful films, with Rene Zellweger playing Bridget, opposite Hugh Grant and Colin Firth. There's noword yet on whether the new novel will be turned into a movie too.

"Few writers can rival Helen Fielding when it comes to fully capturing the modern woman," said Sonny Mehta, the chairman and editor in chief of Alfred A. Knopf in New York.
