Woman dies, man wounded in Burnaby shooting; another shot in Surrey
One woman was killedand aman was in serious condition Tuesday night after a shooting in Burnaby, B.C., police confirmed. Meanwhile,police are investigatingseparate shootings in Vancouver and suburban Surrey.
The Burnaby shooting happened shortly after 8 p.m. in an apartment building in the 2300 block of Madison Avenue, RCMP officers on the scene told CBC News.
At least four RCMP vehicles and two ambulances were sentto the scene.
One person, believed to be the dead woman, had beentaken to Vancouver General Hospital in critical condition,a spokeswoman for the B.C. Ambulance Service told CBC News. It's not known if she died en routeor at the hospital.
Another personin serious condition was transported to Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, the spokeswomansaid.

Meanwhile, a man showed up at a hospital with gunshot wounds Tuesday night in Surrey, RCMP Staff Sgt. GeoffShaw told CBC News.
The man in his 20s was in stable condition, Shaw said.
Surrey RCMP received numerous 911 calls, reporting shots fired shortly after 8 p.m., Shaw said. It happened on 68th Avenue near 130th Street.
Shaw said investigators were still trying to find out the circumstances surrounding this shooting, although they believed the shootingdid not take place in a residence.
There were alsoreports of shots fired onE 3rd Avenue near Kaslo Street in Vancouver, and one man was believed to be wounded.
Police cordoned off a large section of the area but were not immediately available to provide moredetails.
