Police were called around 11 p.m. PT on Saturday, Oct. 30 for a roll-over collision near Fraser Street and East 55th Avenue.

Officers believe three men were riding in a vehicle when they were involved in a confrontation with people in another car a short distance away from where the crash occurred, Vancouver police Sgt. Steve Addisonsaid duringa media conference on Sunday.

"As a result of something that happened during that altercation, the victim's vehicle did collide with a number of parked cars, ended up on its side and when we arrived on scene, we found somebody who was suffering from a fatal injury as well as two others who were very seriously hurt," he said.

One man was pronounced dead at hospital, police said, and two others are being treated for seriousinjuries.

Addison said the cause of death is not being disclosed at this time but did clarify that it was not a result of the collision. The deceased man is believed to have died from injuries sustained from the altercation before the crash, he said.
