3 shootings in 8 hours in Metro Vancouver

Police in Metro Vancouver are busy today investigating three separate shooting incidents in three different Lower Mainland municipalities all within a single eight-hour period on Friday.

Police in Metro Vancouver are busy today investigating three separate shooting incidents in three different Lower Mainland municipalities all within a singleeight-hour period on Friday.

Officers were called to the 3800 block of Hastings St. in Burnabyaround 3 p.m. PT Friday where police found a man in an alley suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was taken to hospital for treatment. His condition at this time is unknown.

RCMPsaidthe shooting may be related to a home invasion that occurred several blocks away an hour earlier. No arrests have been made.

Victim visibly bleeding in Surrey food court

Two hours later in Surrey, RCMP received a report of a man visibly bleeding at the food court at the Surrey City Centre Mall, located at 10200 King George Blvd.

When they arrived, policefound he had been shot twice.

Surrey RCMP said in a statementthe manwas uncooperative with police, but eventually convinced him to be taken tohospital where he wastransported in serious condition.

Police saidthe man, who is in his 20sand from Surrey, is well known to them. He told them the shooting happened in another community but wouldn't say where.

Witnesses said they saw the man take theSkyTrain to the Surrey Central Station before entering the mall.

RCMP are asking anyone who may know who the man is, orsaw him travelling on the SkyTrain to Surrey to give them a call.

Before the day was over, police in Delta were rushing to ahouse in the 8300 block of 110 Streetafter gunshots were reported there around 11 p.m. PT.

Police said several bullets passed through anupstairs windows of atwo-storey house during a drive-by shooting, but no one was injured.
