Another police officer from the Metro Vancouver area is facing a charge of impaired driving.

The Vancouver police officer blew well over the legal limit on a breathalyzer test after he was pulled over by a fellow officer early Sunday morning, according spokesman Const. Tim Fanning.

The 30-year-old patrol constable, whose name was not released, was given an administrative driving prohibition and released on a promise to appear in court, but the charges recommended by police had not yet been approved by Crown prosecutors by Monday morning.

The officer, who had about three years experience on the force, would be reassigned while the case went to court, said Fanning.

The police officer is the third in Lower Mainland to face impaired driving in less than a month.

On Oct. 25, a Richmond RCMP officer was charged with impaired driving after a motorcyclist was killed in a trafficcollision in Delta.

A New Westminster police officer was also charged with impaired driving after allegedlyhitting a highway road sign in North Vancouver on Oct. 18.
