Abbotsford man charged in wife's hit-and-run death

Police have charged four men, including the husband of the victim, in connection with a 2009 hit-and-run death, calling it a "well-planned" killing.

Police havechargedfour men, including the husband of the victim,in connection witha 2009 hit-and-run death, calling it a "well-planned" killing.

Kulwinder Kaur Gill, a 42-year-old mother of two, was hit by a truck as she was walking along a rural road in Abbotsford with her husband in 2009.

At a press conference on Monday, officers from the Integrated Homicide investigation Team said the death was "well-planned."

The victim's husband, 49-year-old Iqbal Singh Gill, is charged with first-degree murder, said IHIT lead officer Kevin Hackett.

Two other men also face first-degree murder charges Gurpreet Singh Atwal, 26,and Jaspreet Singh Sohi, 28.

A fourth man, 26-year-old Sukhpal Singh Johal, is charged with conspiracy to commit murder and being an accessory after the fact.

Police said they could not comment on a possible motive, as the case is now before the courts.
