Abbotsford Police investigating after body found in rural area

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called after a man's body was found Wednesday morningin Abbotsford.

Patrol officers and detectives with the major crimes unitwere first to respondto a rural propertyin the 35,000-block of Fore Road.

"Based on their initial assessmentthe cause of death was not apparent," said Constable Ian Macdonald with the Abbotsford Police Department.

"They deemed that the death was suspicious and as a result they connected both with the coroners office, as well asIHIT."

The victim has not been identified.
