Abbotsford search for man near Sumas Mountain suspended

The search began after Abbotsford Police located a 1995 Green Dodge Ram 1500 Thursday belonging to 47-year-old Earl Olson Thursday evening.

The search for a man believed missing near Sumas Mountainhas been suspended for now.

The search began after police located a 1995 Green Dodge Rambelonging to 47-year-old Earl Olsonon Thursday evening.

"The search now has been suspended," saidCentralFraserValley Search and Rescue (CFVSAR) search manager Lee Holeczek.

"It won't be resumed unless we receive furtherinformation that it was Mr.Olson who drove the vehicle up on the mountain."

The missing man has not been in contact with his friends for three days and Abbotsford B.C. police continue to investigate.

Olson'svehicle was found abandoned in Sumas Mountain Inter-Regional Park and police were initiallyconcerned that Olson may not be prepared for the cold weather and terrain in the area.

Yesterday 22 CFVSAR members searched the park, but found no sign of the man.
